Trail Ride to benefit AuSable Valley Animal Shelter
Blazin' the Trails for Waggin' Tails! Saddle up for a 15 mile trail ride! Meet by 10 am at the 4 Mile Road Trail Camp in Grayling, MI for a day of fun to benefit the dogs and cats awaiting adoption at the shelter. Entry fee is $20 donation for adults, $10 donation for children under 12 years of age. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged in order to plan for dinner. After the ride, a buffet dinner will be served. A silent auction, drawings and awards will follow dinner. This event grows in attendance every year. It is a fun-filled day for people of all ages! Join The Puppy Mill Awareness Meetup in Flint for this year’s national Puppy Mill Awareness Day at the Genesee Valley Mall! We are hosting a peaceful rally against the new pet store on Setember 18th, 2010. The Family Puppy/The Family of Pets is Michigan’s largest puppy selling chain that hides behind cute puppies. Michigan already has enough puppy selling stores and we will not allow more to open! Genesee County is saying no to puppy selling stores! 1st Annual Putt'n Fore Pets Golf Outing, 10:00am - 10:00pm

Corporate Sponsor Pro-Build of Grayling and AuSable Valley Animal Shelter invites you to this first ever golf outing at the Grayling Country Club, with all proceeds to help pay for our beautiful shelter which serves as a safe haven for 300-400 dogs and cats each year. Come on out and help our furry friends keep their home away from home!

Weiner Dog Races (Charlevoix Oktoberfest)
Weiner dog races are for the dachsunds of the area and their owners to come out, celebrate their pets unique qualities and have a ton of fun. Win prizes for best costume, biggest and smallest "weiner dog" and, of course, for the fastest weiner dog! Charlevoix Humane Society fundraising event. Details and registrations for all events can be had by phoning, emailing or checking out the links on their home page as we get closer to the actual events.

2011 Michigan No-Kill Conference
The Michigan Pet Fund Alliance is producing Michigan's first No-Kill Conference. The conference will be held in Ann Arbor on Friday, March 25th. The conference sessions are targeted to shelter staff and volunteers, rescue volunteers, and animal welfare supporters. Most sessions will feature Michigan Shelters and Rescues that are leading Michigan to a No-Kill status through their efforts. Mark your calendar and plan to attend.
